Hi! I’m Joy.
And I carefully craft, cure, label, and lovingly send out each and every soap myself.
For nearly 20 years, I dreamed of creating something that reflects my deep love for nature and homesteading. Growing up with a passion for self-sufficiency and creating things from scratch, I was drawn to the idea of making soap that feels like an extension of the natural world.
“Forest bathing” inspired me to create soaps that are not just functional, but immersive—a connection to nature in every wash. My goal was to go beyond typical handmade soaps, blending rustic charm with artistry and delivering scents that leave a lasting impression, bringing customers back again and again.
One fall, my best friend of almost 50 years, Vanessa, and I ventured to Maine to take part in the awe-inspiring Mount Desert Island Half Marathon. The breathtaking views along the trail made the challenge absolutely worth it.
Moments like these, when I can truly immerse myself in nature, remind me how grateful I am for the beauty of being Lost in Nature.

Lost in Nature Soap is kept intentionally personal: Joy makes in small batches, talks with customers directly, and gives every order the kind of attention that can disappear at a larger scale.
The collection moves through the rituals people return to every day—soap, tallow balm, lip care, and mineral soaks—made to bring a little of the outdoors into the ordinary.
Samples are part of that spirit of discovery. When there is something new worth trying, Joy may tuck a sample into an order so finding a favorite can happen naturally.

Joy’s love of nature isn’t a brand idea—it’s where she has actually been. Maine stole her heart, but the biggest thrill of her life was Mount Rainier in Washington State, hiking with her best friend.
The rain forest in this photo is part of that trip: ferns underfoot, tall trees overhead, and a green quiet that stays with you long after you’re home. It’s the feeling she’s chasing in every batch.

A breathtaking memory, whipped into a balm.
Glacier Vista Tallow Balm is named after the Glacier Vista Trail on Mount Rainier. Last October, Joy and her best friend traveled to Washington to tackle that climb—incredibly hard work, and a view she has never seen matched for splendor, majesty, and grandeur.
To recreate that serene glacial color, premium Blue Tansy botanical oil is infused into a purified tallow base. It starts as an intense midnight sapphire; once her aunt’s vintage Hobart-motor KitchenAid gets to work, that old workhorse whips it into a light, velvety cloud and shears it down to the pastel blue of a mountain glacier.
The tiny pine cones resting on the ice in the product photo are real—gathered by Joy on the Glacier Vista Trail, on that very hike.
